This is the oldest university in Ghana created in 1961. It was first created as an affiliated college of the University of London.

They have faculty of Medicine, Agriculture, Social science, and also Vocational and technological courses.

  1. Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology:

KNUST was established in 1952. It is situated in Kumasi, Ashanti, Ghana. It is the largest university in Kumasi.

They have various faculties like faculty of Agriculture, Faculty of Renewable Natural resources, Faculty of resources among others.

They also operate on distance learning.

  1. University of Cape Coast:

It was created in 1962. A public collegiate research university  which is situated on the Cape Coast, Ghana.

It was created to train teachers because of the keen demand for educational professionals then. They have six colleges and each has departments under them.

The College includes the school of Physical sciences, school of Biological science, School of Agriculture, College of Distance education, College of Education Studies, School of Business.

This University was created in 1992 in a bid to train educational professionals to meet the new pursuit of new educational policies in Ghana.

They operate a distance educational system throughout Ghana. The college includes the College of Agriculture, Education, College of Creative Arts, and the College of Language Education.

It is a private, non-profit institution. It is aimed to educate ethical and business-oriented leaders. This is necessary to build a nation and a continent with found and critical thinking minds.

  1. Regent University College of Science and Technology:

This University is located in Accra, Ghana. It was registered in September 2003 and accredited in 2004 to operate as a tertiary institution.

The university was created by the Presbyterian Church of Ghana.
